Elevate Your Skills: Spring 2027 Data Science Courses to Boost R and Python Expertise
If you’re ready to enhance your coding skills in R or Python, early registration is essential. The Spring 2027 data science training program runs from January through June, with discounted rates for early sign-ups ending on November 29.
Offering a total of 22 courses, all sessions are conducted online by experienced data scientists and engineers who apply their skills in real-world projects. Each course is structured over two afternoons, from 13:30 to 17:00 UK time, with an exception for the Bayesian inference course, which spans four afternoons.
Three Pathways for Skill Development
The curriculum is designed for progressive learning, enabling participants to build essential skills for immediate application in their workplaces.
Pathway for R Beginners
Kick off your R journey with the Introduction to R course on January 11-12. This will be followed by Data Wrangling in the Tidyverse on January 25-26, then Data Visualization with ggplot2 on February 1-2, and Programming with R on February 8-9. Within a month, you’ll progress from writing your first script to creating functions.
Pathway Overview: Gain proficiency in cleaning, charting, and automating your data through coding, significantly reducing time spent on monthly reports.
If January seems too soon, you can take these four courses again from April 12 to May 11. A previous post discusses the career advantages of learning R.
Pathway for Python Learners
The Introduction to Python course is scheduled for February 15-16, followed by Programming with Python on February 22-23, and Data Visualization with Python on March 1-2. These courses are also available again in May and June.
Pathway Overview: Empower yourself to analyze data using pandas, automate tasks, and create visually impactful charts, aligning your skills with those in engineering roles. This foundation is instrumental for branching into machine learning within Python.
Pathway for Experienced R Users
For those already familiar with R, tackle Statistical Modeling with R on March 8-9, learning about hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and clustering, followed by Machine Learning with Tidymodels on March 15-16, and Advanced Machine Learning with Tidymodels on March 22-23.
Pathway Overview: Focus on constructing, validating, and fine-tuning predictive models, enabling you and your team to shift from reactive reporting to proactive forecasting backed by data insights.
Unique Courses Offered Once This Spring
Don’t miss the Introduction to Bayesian Inference using RStan, running from January 18-21. This four-part series will teach you how to code Stan programs and interpret MCMC diagnostics, available only once in the first half of 2027.
Another opportunity is Reporting with Quarto on June 21-22, where you'll learn to create dynamic reports from R or Python code that update automatically as data changes. This topic aligns well with our discussions on reproducible analytical pipelines.
Early Registration Incentives
Early registration ends approximately six weeks prior to each course's start date, with final bookings closing a week before. Key deadlines include:
- November 29 for Introduction to R
- December 6 for Bayesian inference
- December 13 for Data Wrangling in the Tidyverse
Maximizing Your Training Budget
If you’re looking to utilize your training budget before year-end, booking a course in January ensures you get early bird rates and helps you spend effectively.
